This week we had more fun with shapes!
Monday- made shapes with playdough, read The Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza, reviewed the letter M mouth action (lips closed- sound comes from nose), made a list of M words, cut and pasted M words in our journal, and sorted the same group of objects in two different ways.
Tuesday- had language group (10 Apples Up on Top), read The Marvelous Market on Mermaid, stretched letter sounds to make a word (bubblegum stretch), made paper pizzas, and counted objects up to 3.
Wednesday- painted shapes with q-tips, read Pete's a Pizza, blended words to make a compound word, wrote the letter L in journal (big line down-stop- little line across), and arranged and counted up to 3 objects in scattered and linear arrangements.
Thursday- did a cut and paste shape sort, read Pete the Cat and the Perfect Pizza Party, read the nursery rhyme 'Jack and Jill', had an evacuation drill practice (they did awesome!), made shapes with marshmallows and toothpicks (looking to see which is strongest- triangle folded; square was more sturdy), reviewed arranging and counting up to 3 objects in scattered and linear configurations.
